There’s no better way to start the day here at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall than to sit down at the water’s edge with a hot cup of coffee from GrindZ – Hyatt Ziva’s coffeehouse featuring Jamaica brews and delicious pastries. With the sound of the ocean waves crashing the sandy shore, and the sun already beginning to warm your bones, many guests find themselves with the urge to wake up bright and early and take advantage of every second they have here in Jamaica. I even stumbled upon a group practicing meditation and yoga on the “Amphitheater” on my way down to an early breakfast. Of course, for some, mornings are about savoring every last second spent sprawled out in between the soft sheets of your bed – especially when the beds are incredibly comfortable! And this is why I find myself reminiscing about those rare moments in life when people of all different backgrounds, behaviors and mannerisms, come together in one spot, mingle, and in turn, remind us of all those beautiful variations that exist within us.  For me, the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall has been a little spot in paradise where these fascinating connections are made. Whether it be business related, travel oriented, or just a quick interaction between two people passing briefly in the hallway, these moments are fleeting yet have so much to offer.

The entertainment here at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall has brought all sorts of people together without them even aware of it happening. Lead by Maria Davis – Assistant Entertainment Manager at Hyatt Ziva, there is always incredible music and festivities going on. With reggae music playing all around, you can’t help but notice guests shoulders start to rock back and forth, hips shaking gently side to side – without them even having the slightest idea that they’re doing it! Some guests don’t even bother hiding it and jump right on stage dancing in a way they would only find comfortable on this tucked away island. Why not let your guard down and your hips shake?  Isn’t that what this beautiful glimpse of paradise is all about? With such amazing live bands, and variations of reggae you never knew existed, the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall lets the music and the magnificent space do the talking. That horribly awkward part of mingling that feels forced and obligatory is entirely eliminated. Truth is, people with completely different backgrounds and history, opposite personality and mannerisms, feel so comfortable and at peace here in this paradise that they are connecting in a way they never would have otherwise. It’s a little wrinkle in time where you get to stop, enjoy the goodness in people, and let all the worries of your day-to-day melt away.image7

I’m very much looking forward to meeting everyone at the Ziva Lobby Terrace today where I am currently set up at the hospitality desk. Come stop by and get a complimentary shoulder massage by Zen Spa’s best of the best!

I will also be seeing the Planner attendees of the Elite Meetings Alliance connect at the Planner Reception tonight: An Evening in Morocco. It starts at 7:00pm at the Fez– Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall’s Moroccan-style rooftop bar. There will be lots of hors d’oeuvres and spectacular views. The Planner Reception is all about providing that very environment where you can relax, enjoy the music and ambiance, while inevitably crossing paths with some of the most reputable and distinguished event and meeting planners in the industry!  Enjoy!
