Apps Every Planner Will Love

appsloveI recently started with a new company, and as excited as I am to be at a new place, I am even more excited to learn cool new things. Of course it’s great to learn shortcuts and better planning practices, but here’s what really excites me: apps that simplify my life. I have been introduced to some new apps that I just have to share.

Here are some apps for the planner on the go (wait, that’s all of us!)

  1. Packing Pro ($2.95) – This app will have you packing in a jiffy. Lay out all of your trips and what you plan to do. It will organize everything from clothing to accessories in a checklist for you. I have even started to include last-minute event-related items that I might otherwise forget (badge stock, etc).
  2. TripIt (Basic plan, free) – Organize your travel plans in one place, just forward your travel confirmation emails to the app and TripIt creates a detailed itinerary for every trip.
  3. Skyscanner (free) – Skyscanner is a flexible and powerful flight-search app that compares flights and prices…. the usual stuff from a thousand differentapps. People like this one.
  4. GateGuru (free) – GateGuru kinda rocks because it shows you what is near your gate—from food to shops to services—at a ton of airports around the world.
  5. Expensify (free app; service is provided at varying rates) – This is my favorite discovery, because I no longer have to search for a taxi receipt in the bottom of my bag. You can track expenses, snap pictures of receipts, and create expense reports all from your mobile. I love this app!
  6. XE Currency (free) – If you need a free currency calculator app, look no further. This one works.
  7. Uber (free) – You need this app. Now. Basically, the app will get you a town car or limo at a moment’s notice for about the same cost as a taxi… and you get the fare quote in the app before you book.

What apps are simplifying your life? We would love to hear!

Happy Planning!!!
