Welcome back to Meet Well! Now off to the EMA…
Welcome back to the Meet Well blog! Did you miss us?
After three months of transition and hiatus, Meet Well is up and running again, with a new face at the helm. My name is Hannah Prince, and I joined Cvent in August as the new editor of Meet Well and Cvent Meetings magazine. I’m based at Cvent headquarters in Northern Virginia; I live not far away in Fairfax, Virginia, with my husband and our adorable but spoiled corgi, Captain. My background is in journalism, including nine years at USA Today. While I’m new to the hospitality and meetings industry, I have plenty of experience in travel content — but I will be looking to all of our readers for ideas and feedback on what appears here. You can email me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’ve jumped into production for the 2018 Cvent Meetings magazine already, but to get a better idea of the product and the luxury meetings market, I’m jet-setting to Colorado Springs tomorrow (!!!) to see it in action at the year’s second Elite Meetings Alliance — and I couldn’t be more excited. Not only have I never been to Colorado, but we get to stay at the beautiful Broadmoor (pictured above), meet with planners and hoteliers, and spend time with my new Cvent cohorts.
These are the three things I’m most looking forward to seeing in-person:
1. Cvent technology in action: I’ve been through the trainings. I’ve sat through seminars. But I have yet to see all this great technology at work in the real world.
2. The keynote speaker: I didn’t arrive at Cvent early enough to catch Jay Leno at CONNECT in June, but I’ve heard that Christine Cashen is both inspiring and hilarious. And who doesn’t need some inspiration with a side of laughter?
3. The themed night out: In Puerto Rico at the February EMA, the theme drew on authentic Puerto Rican street fairs. This time, we’ll be celebrating the Broadmoor’s beautiful setting with an “In the Wilderness” theme. I even bought a new flannel shirt!
Any other first-timers out there getting ready to attend? Leave a comment below and tell me what you’re most excited to see or do! And check back here over the next four days to find posts about my experiences. I’ll also be live-tweeting throughout the event @EliteMeetings.
